London to Wilderness FAQs
Why would I cycle to Wilderness?
It's fun, relaxing, healthy, good for the environment and a great way to make a new group of festival buddies! There are also great perks just for cyclists thanks to the lovely team at Wilderness. You’ll get a cheaper festival ticket, free use of luxury toilets over the festival weekend (through LooWatt) and help to get your bags and equipment to your camping pitch (through Mr Trolley).
How do I get my bags and camping equipment to Wilderness?
We’ll carry them for you in our Red Fox support van and you’ll have access to them on our overnight camp in the Chiltern Hills.
How do I get my bags and bicycle back home?
We’ll put on a dedicated cyclists coach for you and your bags and we'll take your bike back in our Red Fox support van (costs £32.50 extra).
Do I have to know the route?
No! There'll be a guide who navigates so you can focus on enjoying the ride.
Do I have to bring my own food?
No! Lunch is included on both days of the ride (either a roadside picnic or a village pub or café) and we'll serve up snacks, tea, coffee & soft drinks to keep you nourished and hydrated. On our overnight camp, we’ll book the group in for dinner at the fantastic Yew Tree pub in Frieth, just a short walk from our campsite.
Do I have to be a hardcore cyclist to take part?
No! There will likely be two pace groups so you can ride as quickly or as slowly as you like. There will be plenty of breaks and the Red Fox team never leaves anyone behind. We design our rides to give an experience, not to get there as fast as possible.
I’m travelling solo. Can I join?
Of course! About a third of our riders travel solo. Our guides are welcoming and friendly, and it's a great way to meet other Wilderness lovers.
