WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THIS TRIP?

Essex may be less synonymous with cycling than Kent or Surrey but it has plenty to offer. As Cycling UK put it "on a bike you can escape the stereotypes and discover the real county, a place of atmospheric backwaters, lovely villages and gentle scenery". We completely agree! Our route takes us out of London via the Lea Valley (only on sections also suitable for road bikes) and across rural Essex. The wonderful River Stour is never too far away and the little village of Finchingfield is a real gem with its quintessentially English village green and duckpond.

We'll camp overnight in a pretty campsite in Dedham Vale, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and still heavily farmed despite development pressures (which, to us, means quiet and peaceful). We'll have plenty of time to get to know each other around the campfire or take dinner as a group in the local village pub.

Our second day takes us across rural Suffolk towards the Suffolk Heritage Coast (and, importantly, Latitude Festival). Our guides and support van will journey every mile with us, providing food, mechanical support and plenty of encouragement. We can even bring you and your bike back to London after the festival. All you need to do is turn up and have fun.
