London to Brighton (the L2B)

El classico! The most popular single day challenge ride in the UK. Done the ‘Red Fox way’ this is a 69-mile countryside meander starting in London (Richmond tends to work well) ending at the bustling city of Brighton, the pride of Britain’s southern coastline.

Choose your adventure

The L2B is everything a one-day bike ride should be. Or at least it is when we do it! A beautiful countryside route over the Surrey Hills and across the South Downs. A delicious, extravagant deli lunch courtesy of one of our favourite local partners (the food is exquisite). Customary celebratory arrival photo on Brighton beach, followed by beers & burgers in the garden of one of Brighton’s top craft beer pubs.

The ultra-adventurous can even mark their achievement with a cold dip on Brighton beach!

London to Brighton (69 miles)

The iconic L2B can be as short as 54 miles. We find most groups prefer a longer, quieter ‘country lane’ version of the challenge. It’s safer with expansive views and plenty of opportunities to ride side-by-side and socialise as a team. Our recommended route avoids the famous climb to Ditchling Beacon (the highest point in East Sussex) before the final descent into Brighton, but we always allow groups to decide on the day.

Getting home

Trains run frequently from Brighton into London Victoria, London Blackfriars and London Bridge and bicycles are allowed on all services.
